Be Wary of Seraklanites

Post by SM Thaumaturgy » 07 Jan 2019, 10:54

There have been reports of followers of the church of Serklan around this fair land, most recently in Brisel.

From my experience the one in Brisel was disguised as a follower of the Lady Crowa and was requesting tales of adventure and bravery to pass on to others.
Unfortunately I was unaware and told him of one of my achievements, though I am always one to share stories anyway. I do not fear the repercussions if there are any, time will tell.

Anyway, be on the look out. This particular person escaped as soon as his faith was discerned. If parties are able can they discern the faith of friendly people they encounter as a precaution.

Thank you for your time

Thank you for this schoolmaster. I have met with two individuals on my adventures recently; one was claiming to be a Traldan, in Middale, the other claimed to be a Kharachian, near Norham. No one on either party was able to discern their faiths, but no information was given.

Thank you for this valuable information – it could be relevant in Dunlirron for the hiring in the coming days. I read a report last night of brigands on the road between Barra and Dunlirron falsely claiming coin on behalf of the DOF Crowa [who resides in Barra]. Needless to say there seems to be a level of deceit here and I am suspicious.

My initial thoughts had been that it might be the work of Seraklanites, and this information would only seem to back this up. I shall be sure to pass this information onto the hiring officer for the hired group to be wary – If I am not needed elsewhere I may lead the mission myself.

One also encountered in Medehamstede, claiming to be Rolborian, sadly we were to focused on searching for a lost kharachian priest to think to discern him despite the ability, darn (or words to that effect)

Well, that's just giving a bad name to storytellers and heralds all around ithron who do this as an honest living!

Indeed, I enjoy telling of heroic deeds as well as having bards at my banquets for entertainment. I am not happy with requesting that any bards have their faith discerned before engaging them in conversation.

That sad I will bear these precautions in mind when travelling through the countryside as I abhor heretics and their poisonous schemes to corrupt law abiding citizens of the realm.

Sadly we do not have anyone that I am aware of currently in Dunlirron that has the ability to discern faith. Is the church, or anyone within the church, able to provide a scroll that would allow me to carry out a ritual to Discern Faith?
Please feel free to drop me a message privately if this matter is not one to be discussed openly.

Sir Darkmantle, For what its worth from myself, a somewhat known bard and herald amongst the adventuring community, i would happily volunteer to have my faith discerned before any engagement. For if the nobility become cautious because of this serreklanite issue, then stop hiring bards and storytellers, then We all suffer, for you are without entertainment, and i am without food.

I would suggest that any storyteller, bard or herald that refuses to have their faith discerned with enthusiasm at quickly squashing this issue is part of the problem.

Besides, yer should be proud of yer faith. It's not like it's somethin yer need ter hide. I typically ask before I call upon my lord Sidhe ter divine the faith of an individual, however that' only out o courtesy.

As fer creatin some form of charged scroll, I don't believe it's possible. Yer can do Prayers an Rituals, however I personally can't do one of discern faith or heal limb.

Would the Divine nature of Sidhe's Truthtell be any help in rooting out Seraklanites?
