High Father Lowlife, Father Dark is not a yipping dog. I think you'd do well to know a man before you speak about him such. I've seen him only ever act on what he's said. He destroyed two vampires as a novice and was instrumental in the defeat of a mummy.

Sidney, I'm sure it would have. But if we tolerate the demon because it's only playing golf and it's really powerful and scary, then it's won. Next time maybe we tolerate the demon because they are defending our flank in a battle and next time perhaps because it's done so well we keep bringing it back and rely on it time and time again. It is a downward path. If we justify our actions in working with the enemy because it is convenient then we are walking a dangerous path indeed.

It was indeed sarcasm. I was one of the first on the scene after being informed by one of my captains. I saw the creature being. For want of a better word, entertained by 2 masters of the school of demonology. I was informed by them that any attempt of attack the demon would, and I quote, 'every part of my body being teleported to separate locations around both this plane and Sharda.' Or words to that effect. Masters Mara and Malcador assured me that they were doing the only thing they could to protect both themselves and the rest of us from a threat that could have cost up dearly.

I don't believe in famous last charges that leave all our forces dead, or wishing they were. I believe in being clever and fighting the battles we can win whilst preparing for those we cannot.
I thought so sir, just my tired eyes not being 100% sure and needing to check, I hope no offence was taken as none was meant.
Always glad to hear that a sound mind is in charge of Ithrons fighting forces.

Forgemaster sir
I'm in no way suggesting working with demons, I'm advocating not just blindly attacking without forethought which is what Father Dark was suggesting.
We tolerated the demon not because it was only playing golf but because there was what 200 souls in that compound at the time, some not adventurers and I can't stomach the thought of them being dragged to Sharda for eternal damnation purely out of righteous anger at something being there.

I'll not fall out with You, Sidney. Yours is an argument born out of compassion and has significant merit. Barneys is an argument born out of passion and belief in a certain way of things as directed from his Lord and has significant merit.

I guess the majority of us would only really know how we'd act when faced with it. I was not in the compound so can't really hold the opinion either way.

It's tough.

Forgemaster sir
I've no wish to fall out with you either sir.
I hope we can both take each others points on board.

Absolutely. My first thought would be to attack and destroy the abomination, but there are demonologists who I'd listen to.

The yipping cub can make many thrett about what it will do to bear but if it attck da bear it will probly juss end up as lunch. Dat not help ennyone except da bear.

Braverry is gud. Hatin demons is gud. Sendin demons back to weer dey cum from is gud. But attackkin a foe yoo cannot defeet for no pur-puss is not gud.

Agreed. But I am unconvinced that the demon was beyond anyone's ability to defeat.

Probably akin to teasing a werewolf with dog biscuits perhaps.

Demons are real.
Demons are dangerous.
Demons are evil.
Demons have no place on this plane.

The sentiment that they should be fought whenever and wherever they should arise with all of the strength that you have to hand is a noble one.

However, for many who would attempt to seize upon that impulse, their reach exceeds their grasp.

I stand in awe of the occasional firebrand who can

Probably not Archmage. Attacking with the intent to destroy something is different to antagonising something you know, from experience, you cannot harm.

Again I'll ask those better versed in the demon. Was this one in the compound immune to enchanted weapons? Could it be struck infinitely with no effect?
