Fae ‘toy-maker’ assistance/research required

Post by Weird_Ginge » 08 Sep 2019, 22:03

Greetings all,

I recently adventured in Fernhamshire and encountered a Fae known as the ‘toy-maker’ who’s been encountered in the area previously (five months ago to my memory).

During a fight with him I was forced into a portal. I was returned with my hand having some sort of stitches put into it and was hoping a physician or thaumaturgist would be able to assist me in discerning their properties and perhaps help gain an insight into this ‘toy-makers’ work.

Further details of what’s already known from my own experience can be provided if it’s required/helpful.

In Sortho we have heard of a Toy maker to a mummy like entity called Theil. However I'm unsure if it's just coincidence that they have the same moniker

What does it look like? We ran into something this weekend near Fernham that was very strange and apparently Fae. It appeared to be experimenting with dead bandits. Upon deciding that it was up to no good we attacked it but it vanished after destroying our one enchanted blade.

Mr Wind- I do believe this extract from my report of the day may be useful in assisting your inquiry.

'The entity in question was around 5'11", humanoid in appearance, long black hair, wearing a black apron over fine mesh chainmail and tinted goggles. It spoke with a soft, slightly evelvated pitched, gentrified cadence and refered to itself as 'The Toymaker'.

It weilded a hammer, some six or seven feet tall with
golden coloured head, infused with apparent soulfire-based magical properties. When the hammer was beat upon the ground, the resulting tremor knocked back all nearby to the floor.

The creature posessed significant arcane power; casting approximatly half a dozen spells which I symptomatically ascribe to be fears (without the use of a matrix of paper or suchlike) and still posessing such reserves to be able to resist magical efforts to seperate it from its hammer.

It fought reservedly, accompanied by some half dozen creatures, posessed of flesh but vineered in panneled wood, and two creatures resembling toy marching soldiers. Neither blade enhancements nor alchemical envenoming proved especially effective against either the entorage or the Toymaker, although both appeared harmed by the violent application of steel'

Junior Guildsman
I would like a copy of this report please.
I may have additional questions, and it looks like I might need to make a trip to Fernham.

Vincent, if you refer to the toy-maker I believe Sebastian's description is accurate. If your enquiry is about the stitches to my hand, they appear almost expertly done, and hard to differentiate from normal stitches other than the fact they now appear to be growing up my arm at a slow rate.

Yes, we met the same creature then, on the same day too but in a different location. I wonder how far its influence reaches.
