That's assuming it has come away from its home, rather than you nebbing in on the untravelled parts that are its home. As others have said, if it's not prowling around more populated parts, best off passing it by and getting on with your day. Otherwise Master Blanchard's advice about finding out what had driven it out is sound.

Further to Brorgar's information, I assume there are males because they mate and that's the most usual reason for them straying further than their normal hunting grounds. They can also cause disease, no big surprise given how they are surrounded by dead stuff. You can usually smell one coming a mile off!

And just to back-up the others above, not birdlike, but the ones I've seen have looked more like sheep skulls than horses - either way, some kind of skull face with bits of dead flesh hanging from it is probably the best description. You'd be forgiven for thinking it was undead! And they're not Longstorian creatures any more than any other natural beings are. They're a bit creepy truth be told, but generally no bother if things are as they should be.

The Banshee in Kirk Leigh is to be left alone, apart from checking the Krygenites haven't had another go for it.

If anyone would like to visit or study it and it is amenable then please get in touch. I take no responsibility if it eats you though.

Sometimes I am staggered by the stupidity of a few in the adventuring community - the over-protection of the Banshee which attacked us at the Dun'lirron Tournament being one such occasion.

While it's all well and good wanting to save natural creatures, relocating it to another area or whatever, as pointed out above these creatures are both deadly and territorial. Most natural creatures seem to be good at making their way back home too - like a sixth sense.
Should any dead peasants or children turn up as a result of this "mercy" then the deaths will be firmly placed at the doors of those who had it deathslept rather the allowing me to lay it to rest.

I'd agree it probably shouldn't have been placed into deathsleep. But I wasn't there. What happened? Why did a Banshee visit a tourney. Sir?

I think it took a dislike to you, Gideon, because you were nobbing around in its nest.

As I said, they are very territorial, aggressive hunters. Maybe it thought you were the easiest meal in our group?

Or, it might be that due to the incredibly unusual circumstances of our finding it, that it was acting contrary to normally expected behaviour?

Or maybe, as I said, we were told as young 'uns they were harbingers of death, and when you heard the scream it meant someone was heading to the end of their life. Perhaps it was yourself?

I don't know, sadly.

I'm sorry Gideon, we're talking about banshees here, not humans.

On the topic of saving natural creatures - I know you ain't referring to me Elias and I wasn't there so there may be plenty that I'm not aware of, but death is as much part of the natural cycle as life and and I can't imagine there's many outside of the Vleyborian faith that would disagree. Further to the Forgemaster's questions, is it still in deathsleep?

That being said, back to you Gideon, killing for killing's sake is pretty unnecessary and a bit bloodthirsty. They absolutely can cause hideous diseases but most will leave you the chough alone if left alone. The fact that they're so rarely seen is testament to that surely?
