Pretty sure you did still need to serve a warrant, putting a notice up on here does not constitute actually ensuring someone has seen it.

I have seen it, I can confirm the warrant has been written, correctly according to the new laws as well.

I meant seen by the person who is getting arrested.

When the Chief Justice makes their way to a guardhouse or Defender of the faith, they will be shown it. Often criminals or suspected criminals aren’t generally available or indeed findable when a warrant is issued. I’m sure the Chief Justice will want to comply with the laws they are trying to implement and see to it they are compliant. I believe the standard timescale is seven days?

A copy of the warrant has been sent to the Office of the Chief Justice.

I would just like to clarify for anyone who does not understand - my role as a magistrate means that if if someone can argue reasonable suspicion of a crime being committed then it is my duty to submit the warrant - particularly as I'm also Sidhean and as such seek for fair judgement in all things.

It is not my role to establish if the crime has been committed.

The Chief Justice answered the warrant in Kirkleigh yesterday and sat a public hearing before 3 magistrates I believe.

All charges were dismissed.

This is a rather crude summary as our Chief Justice is a rather well spoken fellow.

In the first matter - the law is intended to protect our forests and to ensure saplings have chance to grow.

In the second matter - this is legal advisory I believe and is not law, consequences of the precedent this would set would be of a severe magnitude.

---

Personally, I found him quite amenable and he was willing to provide justification and reasoning to all the laws he was asked about by the adventuring community. He also recognised the gathering of elven folk and spoke freely and willingly with those of us whom had queries.

I confess I did not ask about laws beyond those which would affect myself at the time, as I rather bemused by the possibility I may have to ask the Archmage about his permit and soulfire.

The Chief Justice expressed he would have preferred someone had come to talk to him about this beforehand.

I asked if that was something we were actually allowed to do, and he said anyone could send him a letter, though it may take him time to get to it.

I thought 'come and talk' meant going and talking to someone, but his explanation was only about letters.

He was, however, calm when explaining human court to those of us of Elfen line who have not been to such a thing before. I'd half expected exasperation or anger at our lack of knowledge

If the Chief Justice is stating that the second matter is an advisory and not a law, that needs to be made clear. This "law" in particular is of serious concern to the Crowan church due to our sins.

I'm not familiar with the term "legal practices" in this context. I will need more explanation as to what this entails, and what the punishment is for breaking.

And this is precisely the precedent that was feared for if he should be found guilty then all whom have adventured with the calling warriors of Lady Crowa and assumed any sort of command at any point would attract a charge of blasphemy as they are not a superior within the church and oft not appointed by the church.

It is defined as a legal practice which I am brought to believe it is in our best interests to follow - however - in the terms of those shrouded within the darkness they are to be ignored.

For such matters on adventure I have found the wisdom of Nehn'navir, Beatle and Nym to be quite insightful - all of whom are preists - all of whom are oft ignored by those who stand taller and are greater able to have their voices felt - not just heard.

I would advise accepting our Chief Justices offer of directing letters via your LOcal law offices for modifications to the wording as I believe he is open to refinement of the wording such as in the case of the trees. I believe it was advised the charge be lowered from blasphemy and a fine put into place instead and he was accepting of this.
