Announcement from Berwickshire

Post by Jenny Shackleton » 21 Jun 2019, 19:20

To the People of Berwickshire and Ithron,

It is with a humble heart that I impart to you the news that the Duke of Berwickshire has passed away. He will be remembered as a man that could stand above the disagreements of the Barons and Baronets of our county with the impartiality that is necessary of a man in such a position, and the grace that only comes from those who are truly meant to lead. He will be sorely missed both at homne and amongst the Dukes.

To find another who has simultaneously gained the respect of the people of Berwickshire and in a great part can stand above the politics of the families of Berwickshire whilst commanding their respect has been a great task for the royal court.

However, one name has stood out as a champion who has recently placed themselves in the way of harm to the county over many years, and gained the respect not only of the people, but the Lords of Berwckshire, Duke's Congress, Archduke, and King.

It is my great honour, as her previous Liege Lord, to declare that Lady Knight Judith Tirel, formerly of Prudha's Ridge, has been offered, and accepted, the position of Duchess of Berwickshire. The Archduke understands she has a number of commitments to complete before she ascends to this role in the coming months. And in that time Lord Stewart DePiercy will carry out the roles and responsibilities of that position in her place.

However, may I be the first to swear my service to her, and Berwickshire.

May the gods save and protect the King,

And may their light shine upon Duchess Tirel, to whom I swear my service.

For the County, Country, and Empire.

Baron Berwick-Farron

A worthy appointment, I am proud to call her a friend and will be honoured to visit the Duchess when I am travelling through her duchy.
