FAO scribes and poets of the seven

Post by Astra » 26 Sep 2018, 22:29

Greetings,

I have been for some time now compiling a booklet of poetry, hymns and writings on my Lord Longstor. I am hoping that I can collaborate with those within all the light faiths to create a larger document or even a tome, with wisdom from all the light seven.

With the recent upheaval in the church we must work together not only to fight against the enemies of the light but also to strengthen the bonds and friendships between us. I believe that such a book might help foster good relations between the light churches and also will be a great source of spiritual knowledge for the general public to look to for years to come.

If there is anyone who would like to participate in this please feel free to either post here or send me a private missive.

Praised be to the Great Stag,

Rolbors gift, no paltry sum
Thoughts and feelings, turned wisdom.
With god's of seven easy to find
Rolbors gift is a learned mind

Sidhe gives you freedom of will
Crowa courage to stand vigil
Longstors cycle a wheel in motion
Traldas followers strong of devotion

Kharachs mercy a peaceful death
Vleybors gift of second breath
Rolbors role not so tenuous
For his followers strive to be generous

Amongst the seven we so pride
knowledge we always want to strive
To share with you a better life
To stop famine, woe and strife

I ask of you to take this thought
Reflect on what's been taught
Worship the gods of the light
Defend our citizens with our might

For on the day evil heads rear
We stand strong, no sense of fear
Side by side with our brethren
Atop our lungs "PRAISE BE THE SEVEN!"
Many thanks

Father Gwynfryn,
Thank you for the lovely verse! I will be sure to include it in my book. I have to ask though.. are you sure it is poultry and not paltry? I thought poultry was chickens and things. Rhonnish is not my first language so I might be mistaken.

If you have any more writings I would love to read them and include them in my book. Once I have enough writings I plan to compile them all into a book which I will be gifting to the faithful at one of our large gatherings next year.

You are most certainly correct. Thank you for making me aware of the difference. I normally do commissions now for poems or take off great deeds. But as this was for all the churches I did it just now.

'Tis fortune indeed
That the poet's craft
Be so practiced within our ranks.

I be a humble churchman;
Once, and of occasion still,
Of a troupe of humble players

Our faith is of Fernham's streets
Of tired hands and unclean sheets
Amongst those of need of elevation
Wether by knowledge, coin, mood or station

So ask! In line of faith you may request
For whatever form you feel be best
To whatever work that you do write
I shall give my wit; be it however slight

Astra,

How wonderful to come across this idea of yours. I must say I take great delight in hearing about your book and the inclusion of all the churches. As a kindred Khrachian and avid poet I would take great pleasure in aiding you in any way possible with this venture. Please feel free to contact me privately. I look forward to hearing from you.

This is a fine idea and i commend you for doing it. I would love a look some time.

I might have one or two poems that are far enough out of the gutter to suit your needs.

I shall send you them.

Yours

You wrote that off the cuff? It is even more impressive to me then! I am sadly not so talented to be able to write things quickly like that. I mostly have to become inspired after a long meditation.

Thank you for your contribution. I do not myself have the funds to put towards commissioning specific verses but at a later date when the book becomes well known and popular perhaps I can obtain a patronage to put towards obtaining more verse for future editions.

If this example of your writing style is anything to go on, I would say you have a most artistic mind and I can only disagree with the last statement. Your wit is quite clearly not slight! I will gladly read any religious poetry or prose you have written or will write, and happily include you in the production of the book.

Rordin,

It is good to hear from you! I would love to hear any poems you have to offer. The ones that are in the gutter also intrigue me but not perhaps for inclusion in this book. I look forward to hearing from you.
