Church of Abraxis

Post by garratt89 » 25 May 2019, 11:50

I seek to learn more on the followers of this faith. I am aware they stride to pursue war and conquest, their influence has infiltrated the civilian populace of Bodrismir in Ynal.
I plan to drive the influence out with minimal injuries, but i wish to have a better understanding so i can better prepare resources.
What am i likely to be hit with, as it were?

Lady Brienne,
Though I do not have full in-depth knowledge I can tell you this, If you wish to go against them then be cautious, they are very strategic and ruthless. They will attack with no mercy, often killing whole villages, leaving one person behind to tell of their horrors.
I have however seen your bravery and have full confidence you can accomplish any task at hand, may you have good luck with your efforts!

Thankyou Mistress Luna,
Abroad, there is an abraxian commander who has managed to convince the native populace that they have been left to die. He has come to give them the strength and guidance they need to push back the Konn. He then wishes to usurp the Ynalian throne as he believes hes a man who is fit to lead.

Fighting dirty. They'll stand proud as I would - but seek to tilt a fair challenge into one leaning their own way.

They'll also continue to kill, where as those of our faith will win their combat and stop.

They have a liking for swiftdeath, and typically wear as much armour as possible. From what I've seen, they can cast a spell similar to the Sidhean miracle of dragon armour, they also seem to be able to teleport.

Whilst they like to fight, they will not fight fairly given the option, and from what I've seen, they are willing to run should things go wrong for them.
Out of interest, who was protecting these people before the Abraxians stepped in?

When i first met the "voice" for this commander, neither he or his "six wives" wore any armour or carry anything more than a dagger. They were hesitant to spark a fight with us due to being obviously outmatched. We were also hesitant about shedding blood due to the obvious message that would send back to the rest of the Ynalian population.

I am not fully in the loop as to what has happened over there, but it looks like the country was fully over run by the konn. Each region that were hit fell silent, the prince assumed they were dead, so he closed his city gates and protected who he could. As it turns out, there are survivors.
We rescued 200 from a labour camp in the northern region of Sinop and there seems to he a large populous in Bodrismir.
What i can imagine has happened, during a desperate prayer for help, a man heard whispers. Promises that his land would not be lost to the konn, these whispers gave him the strength and courage to step up and lead his people to survival.

This man obviously listened to the whispers of Abraxis and has clearly done a reasonable job of keeping them safe. He will however, never bring them peace.
Once he has driven the konnish out of Ynal, he will march on the Ynalian throne, leading to a civil war which will most likely lead to the last generation of Ynal being wiped out.

Could be interesting if he does a good job of pushing back the Konnish though. Then he'll probably have the local Ynallian population on side.

There's a difference to bringing a people together in the praise of slaughter and violent fear rendered against your oppressors by a tyrannical strongman, and the sanctity of a righteous upsurge in a community's conflict for freedom and peace.

The followers of the Six will often dissemble and undersell their own deity's true beliefs to try and show them as being kinder than they are, to gather more people. This makes them liars.

My concern mostly comes from him leading them into certain death, either they will die fighting the konn.. or they die fighting their kin who loyally serve the king.
I can see no way they will win with him as their leader.

I plan to relieve them of military requirement, the king has an army for that purpose. I want them to return to civilian life, open their market stalls for trade, return to farming, open their doors to fellow citizens in need. I want them to make Ynal a better place, to pathe the way for the next generation who will be the first to experience peace.

I cannot do that whilst he is alive.
