Dwarven Beard

Post by King Katanova » 10 Feb 2019, 22:44

I'm presently looking for a decent fake dwarven beard for a future character but struggling deciding what to go with based on reusablity, quality and cost. Could i ask others you already used dwarven fake beards for somewhere good to look for them or things i need to be careful of whilst using one?

Any advice would be most helpful

I made mine using wool with a canvas backing around the face, following the instructions on Instructable - https://www.instructables.com/id/How-To ... One-Eveni/

Mine's done exactly to that method, took a couple evenings but that's because I'm easily distracted. Grab some fine emery boards to clean up the edges of any plastic you cut and it'll be fine. Canvas would have worked too, it just needs to hold the strands. I then put a bunch of plats in the wool, stops it pulling through when you catch your face on a weapon or brambles or something similar.

I use the canvas to protect the face from the plastic mesh. It also stops the wool from untying itself.

I used long hair fun fur for mine, it is tricky but I do have instructions somewhere. However that was before you could get really good wool ones online searching for wool Viking beards Viking beard beanie to find who sells them.

OK so option 2 wont work as it sticks to your face and your facial hair would prevent this.

Option 1 beards are OK but over time do get tangled up so I would say for you right now option 3 is probably best.

however I would advise considering making your own with either of the messages above. I used a similar plan to PHil for mine and worked great

2 -i'm intending to shave down my beard for the fake beard once the current character is done with (since the whole wild beard is for my current clansman's sake).

i might look into making one for something to do during my summer break with i'm really not desperate to move into that character.

If you pm me your email I can send you the pdf of how I did mine. I am assuming I still have it somewhere on my laptop.
